How To: Understand VendorProof Alerts

Summary:

The VendorProof dashboard shows your organization’s compliance alerts in three categories: Red, Yellow, and Green. Red alerts are urgent and include confirmed exclusions, invalid NPIs, OFAC listings, FDA debarments, DOJ cases, or CMS preclusion. Yellow alerts signal “Unable to Determine” cases, such as suspected matches, insufficient vendor data, or Medicare Opt-Out listings. The VendorProof dashboard offers a comprehensive overview of your healthcare organization's compliance performance. Alerts related to exclusion monitoring are categorized into three colors: Red, Yellow, and Green. Only Red and Yellow outstanding alerts are displayed on your VendorProof dashboard, as Green indicates potential matches that have been determined not to correspond to your vendor.

• Red indicates alerts with the highest level of urgency, including:
  • Confirmed Exclusions
  • Suspected Exclusion Matches
  • Deactivated, Invalid, or Unavailable NPIs
  • Matched Social Security Numbers in the SSDMF
  • Vendor listed on OFAC
  • Vendor listed on the FDA Debarment List
  • Vendor involved in DOJ Cases Against Doctors
  • Vendor listed on CMS's Preclusion List
• Yellow alerts represent notifications with a moderate level of urgency, including:
  • “Unable to Determine” exclusions, indicating that an exclusion record with a matching name to your vendor was found; however, it cannot be confirmed with absolute certainty that your vendor is excluded. Exclusion statuses classified as Yellow include:
    • Suspected Match
    • Insufficient or Inaccurate Client Data
    • Unable to Determine
    • Suspected No Match
  • Vendors listed on the Medicare Opt-Out List
• Green (visible within a Vendor Record) indicates that a vendor’s name closely resembles data from the monitoring source but verification has conclusively determined that it is not a match. These alerts do not appear on the dashboard.
